I really liked "The Bronze Ladder" by Malcolm Lyon. It is a very well-researched story about the martyrdom of Sts. Felicty and Perpetua. I really enjoyed the details about the practices of the early Church and the fleshing out of the relationship between the 2 women. Very nice to know the back story of 2 saints we hear so often about in the prayers of Mass.
